The on-camera mic is good if close up - and in a quiet environment...
The Sony ECM-Z157 or the Stenheiser MKE-300 directional mics work well
(about $70, $175 at B&H), as does the Azden wireless set (about $150)
(these may need EQ when editing to sound right isf used close...).
It is an amazing camcorder, capable of fairly serious work...! ;-)
