I make a stereo mic pad with two equal-sized resistors (600
ohms?) and a capacitor (20mfd?) for each channel - works fine
for matching most cheap mini-plug mics to the VX-2000.
For XLRs, a few converter-boxes are offered with level pots
for matching levels.
