I assume you know about the Windows audio mixer, and have
set the mic level up? Does your sound card have a mic
input (the line input gain would be too low)? If not,
another sound card (and mic?) should solve the problem.
Alternatively, you could use an external mic and mic preamp,
plugged into the line input of the sound card...
