While the "43" converters may have been specifically
designed for the lens of the 100MC, often similar-quality
larger converters work as well (and often benefit from
greater lens-converter spacing with improved corner
sharpness - though leaving a filter on in between invites
greater flare). The price difference may be due to the
length of time on the market and volume of production
differences between the converters more than inherent
quality differences - though specific converters matched
with various lenses (and the other way around) will
give different results (good matching is the "thing"...).
