Yes - I should have further pointed out how cheap excellent Nikkor
50mm f2's go for....! ;-) I guess people assume that a zoom is better,
but a good zoom costs too much - and forget about all those wonderful old
primes that are available for Nikon and Pentax AF bodies... (WHAT! no
AF!!!? ;-) But the poor poster unfortunately had chosen Canon, for which
no old, fine MF primes exist...;-)
