Take a look at the JVC500 (I have not tried it...) and
the Sony VX-2000 (amazing in low light, MUCH better
than the several other camcorders I tried in my camcorder
comparison [see reviews, with frame grabs in low light,
on my web page, at:
http://www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/camcorder-comparison.htm
with a link to the later VX-2000 review]). Combined with
1/4 second shutter speed and +18db gain (with surprisingly
little grain and good color), you can shoot in very low
light with the VX-2000.
