Most likely the printer removed the color
by shifting the white-balance "error"
closer to neutral...;-) Go back, and ask
for a reprint that leaves the strong red
intact... And, no filter would have helped,
though slower films do often show greater
color saturation (but the best current
800-speed films are very good).
