For remote TTL flash, there are a few ways to go...
You can put SC-17's together to get more length,
you can put a Nikon TTL flash on the end of the SC-17,
then string AS-10's plus the long TTL interconnect
cables (forgot model number...) with or without flashes
mounted on the intermediate AS-10 shoes (BTW, anyone
have a spare AS-10 cheap...? ;-), or you can put a TTL
flash on the camera shoe or SC-17, and use the wireless
TTL SU-4 on another distantly-placed flash (or flashes).
As for the cable release, you can splice in any length
of cable you want - there are no complex electronics
associated with this release...
