I had never seen this before about a week ago when someone brought over similarly-marked Ilford C41-processed chromogenic B & W film.
The fact that the streak was not exactly straight, and even at times briefly back-traced, told me it did not happen in the camera. Upon
close inspection, it was obvious that neither the emulsion side
(unlikely to be damaged in the camera, unless a roller is stuck)
nor the base side was damaged (clearing the pressure plate as
a possible cause). In this case the lines were quite dark, leaving
light lines on the prints. If holding the negatives up to a bright light and looking through them at an angle (or looking carefully
at the "skim" reflection of light off the surface) doesn't reveal
scratches, I suspect there is a problem with the batch of printing
paper being used, or with the printing gear...
