This camera offers insufficient control over picture aspects
to do what you want reliably (forcing the aperture wide),
and has too much inherent DOF to do it easily. Best bets:
using "sports" program mode to force shutter speed high to
force aperture wide (if enough light exists to not force
gain high also...), and using an ND filter to force aperture
wide. The 3-chip Sonys offer AE-A, and you can select a wide
stop, and the VF and manual focus are better - but it is
still awkward to zoom long enough yet get close enough to
get much difference in focus between one part of the image
and another...
