Hmmm, why do you choose the 50mm f1.2 then...? It is good, but so are the
other 50's (and macro lenses), and most people shooting portraits would
choose something longer (85-135, depending on subject area), and maybe
something less sharp... (all the current 50-135mm prime Nikkors are quite
sharp, though...;-). You might want to consider starting with the 105mm
f2.5 (or f2.8 AIS macro) for portraits.
