An interesting concept, but...
What about gradual reduction in accuracy/capability due to
wear/moderate-abuse? What about the difficulty of really insuring
gear for full replacement value (in case of total loss/destruction,
not loss of function due to use, which can't be insured against...)?
Then there is that pesky deductible... (not to mention the very high
cost of really good insurance - not the kind that seems good 'til you
have a loss, and then receive pennies on the dollar...).

Hey, those in US - VOTE TUESDAY November 3rd!
(Maybe we can quiet that Re-Bublican yapping and nipping
at the heels of Clinton, and maybe get a "do-something"
