- Non-AI: if you run your finger around the rear-facing
edge of the aperture ring and encounter no ridges,
it is non-AI.
- AI: if you do encounter two ridges, it is AI or AIS.
- AIS: if you look at the flat, rearward-facing chromed
bayonette surface and see no shallow "quarter-moon
scoop" in the surface, it is AI; if you do, it is AIS.
