Not if that price difference is real, but I would bet that
it is not. Try buying that camcorder for $1600 in a sealed
box, with all original accessories supplied, with no
extras, no extra-cost warranty, and shipping under $30.
Bet you can't...;-) Generally, grey-market prices are
not far below US-import, from reputable dealers... The
grey-market gear should be compatible with US gear if
bought in the US, but it is unlikely the normal US
importer will honor the warranty...
