At 640 x480 (NTSC), it will be stretched in neither
axis, but will appear correct. If you start with
720, internal proportions will appear correct on an
uncorrected square-pixel computer monitor (though the
image will be wider than 4:3), but when output for
TV and reproportioned for 4:3, internal proportions
will be squeezed horizontally (try the circle test,
suggested in my original post, to see...;-).
