This system is simple, and optimizes sight (without
resorting to true monovision) for four distances using
bifocals - and is great for all-around good wide-angle
vision with smooth focus from close to far without gaps.
I have used it for years (with an additional pair of
single-vision two-distance glasses for computer/reading
use), and would never again try "lineless" glasses,
trifocals, normal bifocals, etc. - these WORK (and I
have considerable astigmatism). BTW, the large eyecup
that comes with the PD150/VX2000 also helps (as does
punching 4 holes in the bottom edge to reduce glasses
fogging...).
