Heck, pick up the 35mm with a 50mm on it, look carefully
at the area covered. Then pick up the camcorder and look
through it at its widest zoom position, and compare...
This is not perfectly accurate, but close enough.
Most people think about 48mm-equivalent on a video
camera is wider than it is, because they can pan it, and
within a short time show a wide area - but if the video
camera is not moved, its coverage is almost as limited
as the 35mm camera with a 50mm lens on it...
