It is hot shoe, and it will operate the ready light, BUT, it
would be a poor choice for the FM since it is TTL only, and
would fire only at full power on the FM. Better would be an
SB-24/5/6/7/8, if you can afford these, due to their versatile
auto-mode operation. Also good are the various auto (non-TTL)
flashes made by Vivitar and others, and these can be relatively
cheap. I also like the compact SB-15, but its auto mode is
limited in range.
