You can do a lot (well, heck, most everything...;-) without any filters.
If you are not used to cleaning lenses safely, a decent UV is useful
to accept the scratches during the learning process, but it will do
nothing for your images. The polarizer is popular, and vastly overused,
in my opinion, if you care at all about natural-looking pictures...
Otherwise, if your film is color-negative type, you do not need
color-correction filters for most non-critical uses (a little
overexposure allows for corrections in printing when shooting under
non-daylight balanced light sources like tungsten, flourescent, etc.).
I would use what you have, and buy filters only when the
need/specific-desire arises...
