It is simple trig... If you take the focal length as one side of a
triangle, and 1/2 of the 35mm frame part that you want to find the
angle for (35mm frame height = 24mm, frame width = 36mm, frame
diagonal = about 44mm), you come up with something like this
(if I remember this well enough...;-):
The tangent of 1/2 the angle = 1/2 the frame-part of interest
divided by the focal length.
Try visualizing the problem as a pyramid, with the 24x36mm frame
as the base, and the height as the lens focal length, and it may
be easy to see how to solve for the angle(s) you want...
