The Schneider COMPARON (not "Componar", a poor lens) is a little-known,
but first-rate lens, fully the equal of the Componon-S (except in
coverage), but with higher speed and lower price (it is excellent to
the format-normal corners even wide-open). It is optimized for 1:4
instead of 1:6 for the Componon-S and 1:10 for the Componon, though it
performs well at all reproduction ratios. It is my favorite enlarging
