Probably verkill for anything but Canopus Storm...
It is surprising how much extra CPU hp *doesn't*
matter, compared with what one would logically think...

Since you have the G450 (400 works fine...),
go for dual 19's or dual 17's - the layout is MUCH
easier...

Probably overkill... 256megs should be more than
enough (for Raptor-Premier, anyway...).

Overkill for a program drive - but the Maxtor
20/30-gig drives are good, and cheap...

Plextor...

Not necessary, except for maybe Canopus Storm...

You may be happier with a canopus product - the
Raptor is excellent and cheap; the Storm is RT for
more stuff than others...

If you have not used these, I would start with
Premiere, try the downloadable trial versions
of whatever else is interesting. Some of these
are *not fun*....

Use the camcorder for DV-mastering, another HD
for info backups...

If you want a nice, functional editing computer
with dual monitors, Premiere, and Raptor, ready-to-roll,
with good support, I have one available for $2500...
(We sold a similar one [more storage, a little faster,
and set up for 9 users] to a local cable-access
station for a LOT more...)
