I suspect that you could not detect it easily.
Without causing a rendering of footage with
transitions, filters, effects, etc., the footage
retains the original time and data information,
but the timecode would be continuous on the new
edited tape copy, as it would have been on the
original unedited tape (though it likely would
be different from the original at any given
scene...).
