Using the program drive for video material is a no-no...
You need to add a video-dedicated drive (Maxtor 17-gig,
or any of the IBM Deskstar UDMA drives [+ other UDMA
drives...] are fine for mini-DV). If you don't want to do
this, defragging the drive just before capture/play
should help, but this is tee-jus, t' say th' leest...! ;-)
Mini-DV editing on PC's is durn-near first-rate in the
finished-product quality department, but the VAIO cut
an important corner by not providing a second HD, I think...
