We have built several computers for mini-DV editing
using IBM UDMA drives (8, 16, 20, 25-gig versions).
No RAID needed, no need to worry about other items
on the same IDE port, etc. - they just work without
problems with both the DPS Spark and Canopus cards.
Requirements for drives for miniDV are pretty tame,
and most any relatively new UDMA drive should work.
