A good camera is a good camera - why worry if a
good model will be discontinued soon (or not...).
If it is a parts concern, it will be supported for
a while, and if the similar PD-100a remains in
production, parts will be available even longer...
For light amateur use, I think it is silly to worry
about discontinuance - buy and have fun using a good
camera (or wait forever for that "perfect" "latest
model"...;-). Often, as a good model is discontinued,
I realize the impending loss of availability of an
unused good model sample, and buy it then...;-)
