: : Ok, I wana do some 3d animation work and am using the vx1000...what are all the lens settings? what is the mm in 35mm style of the vx1000 lens? and WHAT IS THE FEILD of view?? I can't seem to find this info anywhere! thanks for ANY help on this one!

: : I will *try* to take a "chillpill" now....:)
: Whew! Trust it worked! ;-)
: Camcorder mfgrs. appear to try hard to obscure the fact
: that their zooms have no real WA - most are the equivalent
: of about 45mm FL in 35mm-camera terms, about format-"normal".
: You can work out the other particulars from that, using
: basic math and trigonometry...;-)
I should have added: "format-normal" for still cameras is
a lens FL equal to the diagonal of the image area (which
is often slightly shorter than what is considered the
normal-lens FL for the format, i.e., 50mm is conventionally
considered the "normal" lens for 35mm, though 45mm actually
is by the definition...); with the above, you can then work
out the angles of view, field sizes, etc...
