If the stills were shot in bright light, the flash will
not help. Since there is no convenient way to trigger
the flash, it is not practical to use one. You can try using
the night-shot feature (with B&W-mode) - the
camera is more sensitive to IR than to normal color...
(BTW, people often have their monitors set too dark
and contrasty.)
