Gosh, I guess I should not have bothered presenting my results...
(see comments to JK, below). Yes, the reviews
can be confusing since much is covered, and there are no
"tidy" answers - I gave my observations of the positive AND
negative aspects of the various camcorders as I saw them
(well, it IS my review - though others would seemingly wish
me to alter what I observed and concluded in it [especially
the Canon owners], though I made many negative comments
about the Sony and Panasonic entries, too...!;-). And,
even with a brief encounter, some negative (and positive...)
aspects did stand out - long observation was not necessary
to see these... Anyway, you are, as I am, entitled to an
opinion (even if it is different from mine - though those
who object to what I said rarely seem to support what
they say...;-).
