I do occasional updates within the existing reviews
when new info/opinions present themselves - but the
basics of the original reviews are still relevant to
the still-current 3-chippers in the group (and the
older one-chippers may still be of interest to those
who own them, or may want to buy them used...). Until
recently, I regarded the current (and often-changing...)
crop of one-chippers not worth persuing or keeping up
with (there were so many short-lived and mediocre
models, why bother?), and rounding up all the previous
camcorders for a proper comparison with such temporary
and uninteresting models wasn't something I was eager
to do (the original comparison consisted of cameras
I owned or had easy access to, and was done for my own
curiosity, not for educational purposes - but since the
material existed......;-). Since buying a PC9, TRV11,
and a PC100, though, I have begun to appreciate the
newer Sony one-chippers as occasionally-useable
alternatives to the 3-chippers - and did compare them
with a TRV900 for myself, but my time is limited,
and I have not written a comparison review of these
(just described the differences on these NGs...).
Now, if someone would like to pay me to do it, I
would be happy to write a new review article on
these.....;-)
(So, I do not consider the reviews "outdated", just,
perhaps properly, incomplete...)
