Since the codec operates on the video frame-by-frame,
comparative frame-grabs from multiple generations of
D25 rendering should be enough for evaluation...
There is a 10th generation Canopus codec comparison at:
www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/original_vs_10th-gen.htm, but
the URL given there for another site that compared
several codecs at the 5th generation appears to be
no longer functional, alas... The results did vary
considerably in quality with the various codecs
there, though, with the Canopus and MainConcept
showing the best results for both quality and speed
of rendering. As for titles, you are right - but a
good titler (Title Deco, Inscriber, CG-Infinity, and
others, plus good title panels produced in drawing/
photo-editor programs) produces high-quality results
with the Canopus and other good codecs...
