Yes - and be sure to disable the auto-fill feature
on the flash (make the sun-in-rectangle symbol
blink or go away, depending on flash model).
At this point, you can make knowledgeable decisions
suitable compensations due to subject color,
tone, and type, and use the fill-ratio selector
to add/subtract flash light as needed...
