The camera will autofocus to the front of the lens
at full "WA" zoom, progressively less close as you zoom
toward the longest FLs. Great "cheater": a close-up
lens added to the front (cheap), which will then give
you high magnification (and high-quality image) near
the tele end (and sufficient working space between
lens and focused item), and likely will still permit
infinity-focus near the zoom short end...
