[story about difficulty cleaning a filter for a camcorder deleted]

Welcome to the wonderful world of (nearly uncleanable) multicoated
(presumably) filters! (As long as most of the stuff is off the filter,
the streaks won't affect images shot through the filter.) If you want to
get a multicoated filter completely clean, the only way that I have found
(and I have tried breath, "lens cleaners", ROR, Windex, various alcohols,
etc.) to do it is the following:
Wash the filter with a clean wet cotton ball to which has been applied
dish washing detergent. Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water.
Drain it a couple of minutes set on edge. Rinse it in a bath of distilled
water with a couple of drops of Photo-Flo added. Drain for a few minutes.
Dry with a large hand air-syringe, driving the remaining liquid around surfaces until it is gone. Finish with fresh Kodak lens tissue (breath
UP onto the filter, and wash your hands before touching the tissue).
Hope This Helps
