Hi-- This may not be the cause of the problem, but you may want to
try cleaning the ends of the springs at the back end of the battery
compartment, then pull them out a bit to put more force on the batt.
pack. Also, try cleaning the contacts on the body and motor (where
they mate) - (I assume that the motor seats well on the body so the
contacts make good contact). (In my audio days, someone taught me
that 90% of repairs can be accomplished by cleaning contacts. He is
right! [That may apply to electronics in the new cameras as well.])
