The "F" series Nikons show nearly 100% film area, and have no
finder distortion (unlike most other cameras), so you can
line up a long straight contrasty line (door edge [though
distortion can change with focus distance...], water horizon,
etc.) with the edge of the viewfinder frame to check distortion.

24-120 is f3.5-5.6...)
