Hmmm, I just thought about this one again, and realized why you got such
a high repair quote... (uh, I know the Ithaca-local scene....;-). If you
send the body DIRECTLY to Nikon (bypassing a local repair rip-off outfit...),
the repair will probably run about $125 - get the particulars by calling
1-800-NIKONUS for addresses/numbers of the Nikon repair facilities.
