Virtually all mini-DV camcorders (well, at least the several I
have looked at...) seem to have a very high level of whine in the
recorded sound. The VX-1000 has been the exception - though in
a quiet room, or when monitoring with earphones, or occasionally
even in high ambient noise areas (for unknown reason...), you
can hear the camcorder whine on the track... Most of the time
it is not a problem with this camcorder, though. This came up in
another recent post, along with the inability of camcorder zooms
to stay in focus when zoomed, and the common off-center placement
of the CCD behind the len - things the "test reports" tend not
to stress...;-) Hmmm, while you have me going on about common
camcorder shortcomings, how about zooms that never get very
wide...? (Including the "WA" zoom for the Canon...;-)
