Confusing, that's what it is...
There are a minimum of three different resolutions
relevant with these: still image max resolution
(X x Y pixels...); format video resolution (NTSC,
720x480 pixels, or about 540 lines TV in the
horizontal direction [vertical TV lines...]);
actual on-tape video resolution (no greater than
540 lines, generally less [possibly a lot less]
due to optics, f-stop used, CCD-characteristics,
etc.). Best is viewing comparative video footage
shot with the camcorders of interest in the same
locations, chosen to show the picture characteristics.
Next best is looking at comparative camcorder
reviews with frame-grabs and descriptions of the
motion-characteristics (I just happen to have some:

but not the ones of interest to you [though I just
bought the similar PC100, and was interested in the
PC5 as the alternative - so I would like to see
these, too...;-]).
