While I have not yet tried the TRV30, all other Sony
camcorders optimize PS-mode for stills only - video
shot in PS-mode looks bad, and is not useful for stills
or motion-video... While I do not like the Canon GL-1
for most purposes compared with similarly-priced (or
cheaper...) Sony models, a couple of features on the GL-1
make it more suitable for some specialized purposes, and
it looks like it may be ideal for your purposes, given
frame-mode video and its long zoom range. Some Mini-DV
