This is a protection mode for the tape and heads when
the tape is in the camera and it is in standby mode.
I know of no way to defeat it, but you may want to
check with Sony to see if there is a way, using a
special remote wired into the lanc control socket,
to turn the camcorder on and off remotely... Otherwise,
I supose you could use the camcorder (without tape in it)
as a camera, and wire its outputs to another TRV-900,
TRV-9, or deck used as a recorder...
