The cable socket is under the removeable cap on the camera front right
(looking from the front), but it is electronic, and will not accept
a standard cable release. You can get an adapter (MR-3, if from Nikon)
so you can use a standard cable, or an (expensive) electronic cable.
If you are handy with electronics work, and can find small slip-on
connectors that will fit over the two terminals on the camera, you
can attach two wires to the terminals with a momentary-contact type
switch between (shorting the two camera terminals releases the shutter
and advances the film, though meter turn-on requires a bit more
complicated arrangement [you can use the regular shutter-release for
that]).
