Some names are different - look for MX2000 for
the DV951, XM-1 for the GL-1, etc.
Bottom line: if you can afford its size/weight/price,
the VX-2000 is the best of the bunch for picture
quality, low-light ability, and (640x480 only!)
stills-quality; the TRV900 is a good second-choice;
and if weight/size/price must be smaller, look at the
PC110 or TRV30. These are the best in various
size/weight/price categories, though the one-chippers
in the last category will limit you with high picture
contrast and limited control options...
