This is probably due to overexposure of highlights. When
lightening, you need to keep the brightest tones from being
lightened too much. Try combining "gamma correction" and
"brightness-contrast" filters (the first down in value, the
second adjusted enough in brightness to compensate for the
effect of the first and the under exposure. You will need to
experiment to best match the other footage, with the
fewest ill effects...
