Yes - audio dropout compensation appears to occur during analogue playback only (assuming this is audio dropout...).

Yes. They are sometimes still slightly audible, but you need
to know what they are to be very aware of them (using the
TRV-900 and DPS Spark for transfer).

It does seem odd, given the lack of dropout evidence in the
picture where the beep occurs.

I don't encounter beeps with the TRV-9 feeding the Raptor.
But if you can't hear the beeps in the output (or the
beep-fix is easily applied...), why worry? ;-)
