Ummm..., you have three individually fine pieces of equipment (assuming
that's a Nikkor lens...;-), but this is unfortunately a good example of
good gear in a bad combination... The variable-aperture zoom is awkward
enough to use with a manual-only LED-metered body, but the lack of TTL
flash control makes flash use even more awkward. I would try to trade
the body for an FE-2 (which has TTL flash, auto exposure mode, and a
wide-range needle-type meter which can make exposure control a bit
easier with a variable-aperture zoom), or trade the lens for a
constant-aperture type - then begin to learn how to use
the more useable combination...
