Nothing is wrong - manual Nikkors just
don't have the electrical contacts to show
the (approximate...) stop in most of the
AF bodies. Many would consider this a good
reason for buying those icky plastic AF
lenses instead of those nicely-made,
good-feeling MF Nikkors - but I prefer
to choose those nice older bodies with the
optical aperture read-outs (and often
sharper viewfinder images...) to the icky
plastic-covered AF bodies...;-) Though,
when it comes to flash exposure, the newer
bodies are hard to beat (and I have three
8008 bodies to use when fill-flash is
required...;-).
