Not a direct answer, but I often mix from multiple sound
tracks, and I trim the video and sound tracks to the same
begin/end frames before moving them - alignment is then
instant when they are individually moved, since they "snap"
into alignment. If I need more sound material before/after
the clip ends, I can "drag" the audio clip ends out to provide it...
