If you are satisfied with a 2"x3" or so image size (on a 15" monitor),
and have a good Hi-8 or SVHS camera (with a slide copy adapter - the
Nikon one with 52mm mounting thread [use step rings to get to your
video camera lens filter thread size - and you MAY need a close-up lens
for close enough focus]), the Snappy device may work well for you.
I find that 1500x1125 captures (with "highest quality" setting [8 fields
are averaged for best resolution]) resampled to 1/3rd the original
size work well - though the quality I get never approaches what is shown
on the Snappy page at: www.play.com (go to "Snappy", then "examples").
