I tend to like a sharp picture, at the expense, if
necessary, of smoothness. But the VX-2000 has picture
adjustment controls, and you can dial down its
sharpening, if desired, which also reduces the "busy"
effects. The oversharpening of the XL-1 bugged me
(and you cannot dial it out - and even with it, the
picture is not as sharp as the VX-2000 in stock
condition).
